TUESDAY, DEC. 11
The two-track technical program continued throughout the morning with presentations on topics including automation,
cooling tower and chiller technologies,
efficiency, master planning and system
design, metering and controls, optimization, operations, sustainability, thermal distribution, and the value of district energy.
Town hall: “Global Expertise, Innovation
In the afternoon, an expert delega-
tion from the U.S., Canada and Europe
shared expertise, accomplishments, inno-
vation and best practices in a town hall
setting. Conference attendees asked
questions and engaged in dialogue on
challenges and opportunities in district
cooling, microgrids, thermal energy stor-
age, system optimization, the energy-
water nexus, and customer expectations.
This discussion provided a knowledge-
sharing experience that made connec-
tions and enabled continued conversa-
tions after the conference.
Following a pretour briefing luncheon,
participants had the option to visit Empower’s plant room, Palm Jumeirah Crescent
2 and the Atlantis, The Palm district cooling energy transfer station, filtration room
and aquarium operations.
