Burns & McDonnell has announced the
addition of four new employees in its
OnSite Energy & Power Group, which is
expanding to meet increased demand for
large campus energy infrastructure proj-
ects. Robert Gilfillan has joined the group
as a senior instrumentation and controls
engineer. He has more than 20 years’
experience in industrial controls logic,
including the design, installation, mainte-
nance, troubleshooting and commission-
ing of all forms of industrial and process
control and building management systems.
A Six Sigma yellow belt and member of
the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers (IEEE), Gilfillan received a
Bachelor of Science degree in electrical
engineering from Wexford University.

The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) named IDEA member Hemant R. Mehta, PE, its Energy Engineer of the Year for Region I
during the World Energy Engineering
Congress in Chicago Oct. 11. Mehta is the
founder and president of New York City-
based WM Group Engineers. The award is
presented to an individual registered pro-
fessional engineer “for outstanding accom-
plishments in promoting the practices, prin-
ciples and procedures of energy engineer-
ing, and for superior service to the associa-
tion.” Region I includes 10 states in the
northeastern U.S. Mehta has vast experi-
ence in utility master planning, optimizing
heating and cooling plant performance and
improving plant efficiencies. He has man-
aged more than 100 central utility projects
throughout his 35-year career. Prior to
receiving the regional honor, Mehta was
recognized at the local level by the New
York Chapter of the AEE, which named
him 2010 Energy Engineer of the Year.
St. Paul, Minn.-based Sebesta Blomberg has announced the appointment of two new directors of oper- ations. Stacey Ayuthia was named
director of Wisconsin operations, located in
the firm’s new Madison office. In October,
Sebesta Blomberg announced the establishment of offices in both Madison and River
Falls, Wis. Ayuthia’s primary role is to further develop the firm’s existing client relationships in the state and expand the company’s presence there. She brings a strong
project management background in design,
construction and commissioning of technically complex facilities. Ayuthia holds a
Master of Engineering degree in professional engineering management from the
University of Wisconsin and a Bachelor of
Science degree in architectural engineering
from the University of Kansas.
Christopher Philbrick, PE, has joined Sebesta Blomberg as director of Chicago opera- tions. He is an accom- plished engineering
industry professional with 18 years of commissioning, energy, sustainability and
mechanical engineering experience. In his
new role, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Chicago office, as
well as for leading client development and
expanding the firm’s business in the
Chicago area. Philbrick is a licensed professional engineer, Certified Energy Manager
and a LEED® (Leadership in Energy and the
Environment) Accredited Professional. He
earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees
in mechanical engineering from the
University of Illinois at Chicago.
