Daikin and McQuay interactive showroom
Exchange Place in Jersey City, N.J. The
32,000-sq-ft facility was designed as a
state-of-the-art interactive showroom
and sales and training center to serve the
needs of HVAC customers and specifying
engineers in the New York City area. The
center showcases Daikin and McQuay’s
latest equipment, systems, solutions and
aftermarket services. It is also available as
an educational site, where the company
will work with various industry associa-
tions to host training sessions, continuing
education courses and other events. The
facility, which will house up to 40 Daikin
and McQuay consulting sales engineers,
national account managers and other
staff, has earned LEED® (Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design) for
Commercial Interiors certification.
NRG Completes Acquisition
of Northwind Phoenix
NRG Energy Inc., through its NRG
Thermal LLC subsidiary, announced June
22 that it had completed the acquisi-
tion of Northwind Phoenix LLC from APS
Energy Services Co. Inc., a subsidiary of
Pinnacle West Capital Corp. The acquisi-
tion includes Northwind’s downtown
Phoenix district cooling system, Tucson
district energy business unit, and the oper-
ations and maintenance of a combined
heat and power plant at Arizona State
University in Tempe.
