Top Ten Green Study
Programs Named
WiseChoice, an online college guid-
ance service, has released a list of the top
ten schools that it says offer the best green
study programs. WiseChoice notes that in
the current economic climate, many tradi-
tional courses of study are becoming obso-
lete, but it suggests that “nothing is hotter
right now than environmental studies.”
Colleges making the list include the
University of Kentucky, Lexington; Arizona
State University, Tempe; University of
Florida, Gainesville; University of California,
Berkeley; Middlebury College, Middlebury,
Vt.; Aquinas College, Grand Rapids, Mich.;
University of Virginia, Charlottesville;
Oregon Institute of Technology, Portland
and Klamath Falls; Defiance College,
Defiance, Ohio; and Washington State

Magma Energy Increases
Stake in HS Orka
Magma Energy Sweden AB, a
fully owned subsidiary of the Canadian
geothermal company Magma Energy
Corp., has reached an agreement
with Geysir Green Energy (GGE) to
purchase all of GGE’s shares in Icelandic
geothermal company HS Orka. This
increases Magma Energy’s stake in HS
Orka to 98.53 percent; four Icelandic
municipalities hold the remaining
combined shares.
