compilation of data
provided by our
members, including
the number of
buildings and their
area in square feet
that have been
committed or recommitted to district
energy service in North America and
beyond North America during 2009.
Highlights of the data compiled
in District Energy Space 2009 are as
follows:
n 95 North American customer
buildings totaling 27,440,426 sq
ft of space were committed or
recommitted to district energy
service during 2009.
n;This compares with 126 buildings
comprising 39,897,947 sq ft during
2008.
n;The running total reported of
district energy space committed or
recommitted for North America since
1990 is 495,127,348 sq ft.
n;Beyond North America, an additional
102 buildings comprising 41,113,744
sq ft were reported committed to
district energy during 2009.
n;This compares with 2,815 buildings
and 281,870,939 sq ft during 2008.
