How do we respond to the dramatic increase in global
demand for district cooling infrastructure? What are the best
practices to build value and reliability?
What can our industry do to educate and inform
policymakers about the energy efficiency and environ-
mental advantages of district energy?
IDEA industry leaders from around the globe will come together
in Scottsdale to share perspectives on today’s emerging business
opportunities and challenges, namely…
competing for customers in a carbon-constrained world;
meeting the huge demand for new district cooling
systems in the Middle East;
shifting to fuel flexibility for energy savings and emissions
reductions;
timing infrastructure investment for communities
and mega-projects; and
creating value for communities, customers and
shareholders.
Gain Direct Industry Experience

and construction of district energy systems, especially district
cooling systems.

across industry segments, emphasizing experience through
case studies and practical solutions to common business

of Arizona and the fifth-largest city in the nation
with more than 1. 4 million residents.
United Arab Emirates, technical tracks will focus on district cool-
ing system design, operation and optimization, with special
attention to infrastructure design, plant development, controls
systems and optimizing Delta T.
A Special Executive Management Track will cover
staffing and succession planning; hiring strategies, training
and motivation. While this track will emphasize the unique
needs of district energy companies to attract and retain high-quality people, it is applicable to all private and public IDEA
organizations, including consulting firms, manufacturers and
project developers. How can our industry attract, develop and
retain highly qualified and skilled professionals for challenging
and fulfilling careers? A special organizational consultant will
share her insights, and there will be opportunity for extensive
discussion.
