UE Systems recently upgraded its
Ultraprobe® 10,000 ultrasonic detection
system with numerous performance and
design improvements. This handheld
instrument performs condition analysis,

Carter & Burgess to Upgrade
Texas CHP Plant
The University of Texas at Austin has
selected Carter & Burgess to assist with its
new combined heat and power plant upgrade. The project will include removal of
a vintage 1965 gas turbine generator ( 13
MW) and heat recovery boiler, and installation of a new 30 MW gas turbine generator and heat recovery boiler. The upgraded
CHP unit will dramatically improve overall
plant efficiency while increasing power
output from 115 MW peak to 132 MW.
The project also includes replacement of
an aging wood cooling tower with a new,
