Wm. Lynn Crawford, P.E., has joined
Carter & Burgess as a project director with
the firm’s facilities unit in Houston, Texas.
Crawford brings to the position more than
30 years’ experience in
design, construction
and facility management for health care
and higher education.
His responsibilities
have included project
development, design
engineering, construction, facility operations and maintenance, and business
development. Previously a senior account
executive with Ameresco, Crawford is a
director of IDEA and a member of
ASHRAE and the American Society of
Healthcare Engineers.
Jim McAdam has been promoted to
manager, chilled-water systems, at the
University of North Carolina. He is responsible for the production and distribution of
chilled water for the university’s campuses,
which have three chiller plants in operation totaling 34,000 tons of cooling
capacity, plus three additional plants and a
thermal storage system under construction. McAdam joined the university in
2002 as a mechanical engineer in cogeneration systems. His position was formerly
held by Gary Tomkins, who passed away
in early 2004.
Spirax Sarco Inc. has announced the
addition of senior management staff in a
move “to strengthen the company’s position in the steam system solutions and
controls market.” Roger W. Barnes, P.E.,
has been named the new vice president of
marketing and technology. He will oversee
all marketing, product management, new
product development, training and marketing communications activities for the
company. He also is responsible for the
Engineered Systems Division. Patrick A.
Tillisch has been promoted to vice president of sales. In his new role, he will be
responsible for all outside sales and customer support functions. Tillisch previously
served as Spirax Sarco’s Western regional
manager until 2001 when he was promoted to national sales manager. Richard
S. Gavlin has been promoted to the new
position of vice president of energy services. His primary role will be to continue
development of the company’s energy
services business. He will also assume
leadership of the Spirax Sarco national
accounts team.
Seattle Steam Co. has named Timothy
J. Clancy vice president of business development. Clancy heads the firm’s sales and
marketing programs,
customer service activities, and external and
internal communications. Prior to joining
Seattle Steam, Clancy
worked for the U.S.
Department of
Commerce for more than 20 years. In his
new position, Clancy replaces Seattle
Steam’s former director of marketing,
Lanny Wuerch, who retired in September
2004 after 18 years of successful service
with the firm.
